Shredding Event Helps Local Families in Rocky Hill
Our Rocky Hill office located at 750 Old Main Street, held a community shredding event in the parking lot of their office building this past Saturday, 8/16. The event, open to the public, allowed each person to have up to ten boxes of documents professionally shredded on site by Shred-It. During the event, school supplies were collected for children of underprivileged families in Rocky Hill.
Jennifer Lajoie, coordinator of the event from Bearingstar Insurance said, “One of our missions at Bearingstar Insurance is to make a positive difference in the communities we live and work. In addition to donating all the school supplies that were collected, we also donated $2,000 to the Human Services Department, Town of Rocky Hill. These funds were provided courtesy of the Bearingstar Insurance Charitable Fund. Besides providing an opportunity for people to destroy sensitive documents, an added benefit to the shredding event was it saved six trees from destruction.”
Bearingstar founded the Bearingstar Insurance Charitable Fund (BICF), a division of the Arbella Insurance Charitable Foundation, in 2012. The mission of the BICF is to engage in activities and to support not-for-profit organizations that have a significant positive impact on the people and communities Bearingstar serves.
