Bearingstar is Platinum Sponsor of 2015 Law Enforcement Torch Run
The Bearingstar Insurance Charitable Fund is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the 2015 Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics. This is the 3rd consecutive year that Bearingstar has been a sponsor of the LETR. SOCT athletes and representatives were special guest speakers at Bearingstar’s annual meeting held earlier in February at the Farmington Marriott. On behalf of the Bearingstar Insurance Charitable Fund, Jennifer Lajoie presented a check for $25,000 to the representatives from Special Olympics Connecticut.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics’ single largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. Connecticut had its first Torch Run in 1986 with a few legs converging onto the campus of the University of Connecticut at Storrs. The run then became a statewide event involving several more cities and towns. Over 1,500 Law Enforcement officers and Special Olympics Athletes participate in the Torch Run. These officers represent local, state, and federal departments, agencies and correctional facilities. The 2015 Law Enforcement Torch Run will be held June 3-5.
